A little about the course
Running (forgive the pun!) for 8 weeks, the start date for the next course is Tuesday 9 January 2024. This is the tenth anniversary of Calne Running Club’s beginner’s course and we have seen hundreds of people complete their first 5k after taking part.
Our all inclusive, 8 week course is delivered by our very own UK Athletics coaches, Denise and Simon Nott, and is open to everybody. However, it is aimed at people who have never run before and want to give it a go or those who are returning back after injury. We see a whole variety of reasons for people joining the course from those wanting to lose weight, those who want a focus to get fitter, or those who just want to get to their first 5k! It also has a huge benefit not just to physical well being, but to mental health as well due to the feel good factor that exercise can bring.
The course has been incredibly well received in the past and has been described as “life changing, if not life saving” in some cases. We ensure that the course is fun and engaging and through the duration of the programme you will become fully engaged with our friendly family of members who will offer encouragement and support, many of whom will be from our previous courses so will know what it’s like. You are guaranteed to make new friends and possibly even catch the running bug!
Where to go….
Calne Running Club is based at Beversbrook Sports Facility and the beginner’s course will also be run from this venue; Beversbrook Sports Facility, Beversbrook Lane, Calne, SN11 9FL.

The course will cost just over £3 per week and we ask for this payment up front (£30 payment) to cut down on administration at each session. We are making things easier for you by setting up online entries.
