Beginner’s Course
Our 8-week sofa to 5k course runs every year in January from Beversbrook Sports Facility. We’ve seen hundreds of people complete their first 5k after taking part!
Our course is delivered by our very own UK Athletics coaches, Denise and Simon Nott. It’s particularly aimed at people who have never run before and want to give it a go, or those who are returning back after injury.
The minimum age to join our sofa to 5k course is 18 years of age.
We see a whole variety of reasons for people joining the course: from those wanting to lose weight, get fitter, improve mental wellbeing or get to their first 5k!
The course has been incredibly well-received in the past and has been described as “life changing, if not life saving”.
We ensure that the course is fun and engaging and through the duration of the programme you will become fully engaged with our friendly family of members who will offer encouragement and support. Many of our members have come from our previous courses so will know what it’s like. You are guaranteed to make new friends and possibly even catch the running bug!
How to join the beginners course
Our entry form for the beginners course opens every December, with the course beginning in January.
We will add the link to this page when entries open. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact us via our contact page.
