How it works……

The Club Championship for 2017 will be run the same way in which it has been for a number of years now which will essentially means that it is club representation that is rewarded along with strong performances. It will work as follows:

The Club Championship 2017 will comprise of 15 races, which have been chosen to try to incorporate the Wiltshire Road Race and Off Road Race League races to try to ensure a good CRC turn out at races that will also gain us points in these leagues.

We also incorporate a few ultra runs to ensure that the clubs ultra-runners have a fair chance of taking part in the club championship.

As with previous years, if an individual completes a marathon distance or further that is not within the club championship, they will be rewarded with 20 additional points. This bonus is only awarded once so if the runner completes multiple marathons that are not within the club championship, they will only be rewarded with 20 bonus points.

As with previous years, if an individual completes a half marathon distance event or further (up to marathon as mentioned above) that is not within the club championship, they will be rewarded with 20 additional points. This is only awarded once so if the runner completes multiple half marathons that are not within the club championship, they will only be rewarded with 20 bonus points.

Race Results: The Male and Female Championships are run separately, but in the same way. So, if five male runners complete a race that is in the Championship, the first CRC runner home will receive 20 points, the second home will receive 19, third 18 points, fourth 17 points and fifth 16 points. This will work in the same way for the female athletes.

This scoring works the same way across all races……. Simples.

So essentially, if you turn up and represent CRC at as many races as possible, you will be in with a shout of winning the Championship!  Good luck! J
